Gone are the days of “matchy-matchy”. Combining different materials, textures, and colors is what 2016 is all about. Think about mixing cabinets, hardware, countertops and colors to create texture and visual interest.

Deep, horizontal kitchen and bathroom cabinets aren’t necessarily new, but they’re becoming more affordable and customizable. With wide cabinets that have a width of 36 inches, there is less need to stack cabinets vertically toward the ceiling, making it easier to reach items.

Whether used in the kitchen, bar or on the sides of a fireplace, floating shelves help to break up monotony of standard cabinets and serve as a place to display vases and decorative dishes.
