Design trends are forever changing throughout the years, some stay the same and some make a comeback. Check out some of the design trends we are seeing going into the new year!
As we have seen throughout the last few years, neutrals have mainly stayed consistent in the home. People have started to add more color into their homes – it could be an entire room, accent wall, or accent piece. We believe adding color to your home is the easiest way to make a statement.
Tiled walls are an accent trend that is becoming more popular and we can expect to see more of it in the next year. Although, mosaics have been popular for accent walls, large format tile will be making its way in as the popular product for larger spaces including fireplaces or shower walls.
Our pets are a part of our families and now designing parts of your home dedicated just for them is becoming a design trend we see going into many homes. It could be a nook under a cabinet or stairs or even a pet spa in the mudroom or laundry room.
A pocket office is becoming more popular for today’s homebuyer because they don’t have to give up space in a bedroom and can still have a place to work. A pocket office is also an efficient way to use up space that often wasted in floor plans. We have seen office space going into the laundry rooms or behind a pair of barn doors.
Textured cabinets are a new trend that is making its way into 2019. We believe that adding textured cabinets can add dimension to any room. Keep an eye out for our upcoming spec homes that will showcase this new trend!
White appliances are nothing new and has been commonly seen in the past. The new matte white finish for appliances puts a modern twist to what we’ve seen before. We believe that this new finish will been seen a lot this year and an easy way to brighten up your kitchen.
Our experience with Kimberley was very professional and personal at the same time. Everyone we dealt with through the whole process was very helpful. Dave, our superintendent, was great at keeping us informed during construction of our home. We really appreciated everyone involved–it made the process easy!Judy Klever | Ankeny
