At Kimberley Development, we love to build and remodel homes to meet all your family needs. Here are some practical features we think families like to see in their home.
We love to stay organized! Lockers are a great way for each member of the family to have their own designated spot. No more tossing your coat or throwing your shoes in the corner. Plus, look how amazing these locker systems looks!
Everyone from a single home buyer, to a family of 5, to empty nesters need a “catch all” counter. A place to put car keys, mail, dock your phone and so much more.
Having a designated place to store small appliances, food and snacks help eliminate clutter throughout the kitchen. Most our plans feature walk-in pantries and some even have hidden doors which help give the kitchen a seamless look. The amount of customization that goes into your pantry is up you.
Do you have those days where you need some “me” time? Cue in the soaking tub! Nothing better than a book, glass of wine and a hot bath after a long day. While standard tubs are usually sufficient for kids, they generally don’t hold enough water to cover an adult, nor are they very comfortable. Soaking tubs however are usually longer, wider and deeper and will allow water to cover most or all of an adult.
A finished basement allows for extra space for the kids, adults or the entire family. And, if you’re like some of us at Kimberley Development with kids, toys seem to accumulate faster than we’d like! There are great ways to craft practical storage to accommodate any and all your needs. Many of our buyers use their basements to entertain, accommodate extra bedrooms, house their own in-home gym equipment and/or create an in-home office space.
A fenced in back yard is a great way to safely spend these spring days outside. Only thing better would be to add an in-ground pool!
We’d love to give you more tips on how we can help customize a home to meet your needs. Contact us about building your next home or remodeling your current space!
We were fortunate to send some of our team members to IBS (International Builders’ Show) and KBIS (Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) in Las Vegas last week. These trade shows co-locate together which results in the world’s largest gathering for industry professionals each year. Over 1,700 exhibitors’ setup to show off their fresh ideas, products, and technologies to design, build and remodel homes with.
During the week, our team attended numerous cutting-edge education sessions that focused on topics like: product trends and innovations, millennial buyers, 55+ buyers, floor plan solutions, design decisions, customer service, and scheduling. After long days of education sessions, our team attended networking events where they were able to build new connections and also connect face-to-face with current suppliers.
Now that our team members are back, we’re excited to implement some fresh ideas into our spec and custom homes, our upcoming developments and in our office and field. Check out some of the trends we spotted and learned about while there!

Building with Kimberley Development was a great experience from start to finish. We had an outstanding building supervisor (Dave Schlachter) who worked with us every step of the way. The Kimberley attention to detail, quality of materials & construction, and responsiveness to customer concerns is excellent. We recently moved into our villa and couldn’t be happier with it. We definitely recommend Kimberley Development for a great building experience!Conrad Jungmann | Waukee
